Salvation in Old and New Testament
In Old Testament, God require animal as a sacrifice for man’s salvation.
The question:"Why did God require animal sacrifices in the Old Testament?" - God required animal sacrifices to provide a temporary covering of sins and to foreshadow the perfect and complete sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
God commanded Israel to perform numerous sacrifices according to certain procedures:
1.First, the animal had to be spotless.
2. Second, the person offering the sacrifice had to identify with the animal. Now we no longer offer animal sacrifices today because animal sacrifices have ended because Jesus Christ was the ultimate and perfect sacrifice.
In summation, animal sacrifices were commanded by God so that the individual could experience forgiveness of sin. The animal served as a substitute. Jesus Christ was the ultimate sacrificial substitute once for all time (Hebrews 7:27) and is now the only mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5).
God’s Plan of Salvation
1 John 5:11-12
And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life.

Man’s Problem :
1.Separation From God
Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, And your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He does not hear
2. The Futility of Our Works
Scripture also teaches that no amount of human goodness, human works, human morality, or religious activity can gain acceptance with God or get anyone into heaven. The moral man, the religious man, and the immoral and non-religious are all in the same boat. They all fall short of God’s perfect righteousness

God is not only perfect holiness but He is also perfect love and full of grace and mercy. Because of His love and grace, He has not left us without hope and a solution.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

We can receive God's son, Jesus Christ, as our Savior by personal faith, by trusting in the person of Christ and His death for our sins.
This means we must each come to God the same way:
(1) as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness,
(2) realizes no human works can result in salvation
(3) relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for our salvation.
If you have received Jesus Christ as your saviour, you should:
(1) as a sinner who recognizes his sinfulness,
(2) realizes no human works can result in salvation
(3) relies totally on Christ alone by faith alone for our salvation.
- admit your're a sinner
- be willing to turn from sin
- believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried ad rose from the dead.
- through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal saviour
If you have received Jesus Christ as your saviour, you should:
- read bible everyday to get to know christ better.
- talk to God in prayer everyday
- tell others about christ
